Delete your data
This page explains how to delete the data propane media holds about you, and lets you check the status of a deletion request using the confirmation code you were given.
Check a deletion request
If you removed propane from your Instagram account’s Apps and Websites settings and asked for your data to be deleted, Instagram gave you a confirmation code. Enter it below to see the status of that request.
Deleting your Instagram connection
If you connected an Instagram account to propane, you can sever that connection at any time, and doing so destroys the access token we hold:
- From propane: open the Publish tab and choose Disconnect. This deletes the stored connection and its access token immediately.
- From Instagram: go to Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites and remove propane. Instagram notifies us, and we revoke and destroy the stored access token automatically.
Once disconnected, propane can no longer post to your account, read its insights, or see its comments. Reels you already published stay on your Instagram account — they belong to you, and only you can remove them from Instagram itself.
Deleting your propane account
To delete your propane account and everything associated with it — your email address, sign-in history, credit ledger, generation history, saved edits, and any Instagram connection — email us at hello@propane.app from the address you signed up with. We action account deletions within 30 days and confirm by email when it is done.
Some records are retained where the law requires it (for example, transaction records kept for tax and accounting purposes). Those are kept for the minimum statutory period and are not used for any other purpose.
What we delete for an Instagram data-deletion request
When Instagram sends us a data-deletion request for an account, we delete:
- the stored Instagram connection, including the encrypted access token, username, profile picture URL and follower counts;
- every record of reels published to that Instagram account through propane, including captions and Instagram media IDs.
We never store your Instagram password, your direct messages, your followers’ personal data, or any media from your account. See our Privacy policy for the full picture.
